Composting is an excellent way to recycle kitchen and garden waste. In this article I will explain why you should consider composting and how to do it.

The first step in composting is to find out what sort of material you have to start with. The easiest thing to compost is kitchen waste. This can be left out for a few weeks until it is dry and brown. Then you can add it to your compost bin. If you have any green waste like grass clippings, leaves or twigs then put them in the compost bin too.

Next you need to decide what you want to use the compost for. You may have some plants that require compost to grow. If so, then make sure you get enough compost from the kitchen waste. It is best to get a good quality compost as you will be using it in your garden.

Once you have decided what you want to use the food scraps for you need to decide where you are going to put the compost. If you have a large amount then you may want to put it outside on a compost heap. If you only have a small amount then you can put it in a bucket or other container. It is important to keep it well watered at all times.

Once you have made your compost then you need to add it to your garden. There are many different ways to do this. One method is to put it in a hole in the ground. Another way is to place it in a raised bed. Another way is to put it in a pile. Once you have added the compost to your garden then you can plant it in your garden.

If you have a compost heap outside then you should regularly turn it over to allow the compost to break down further. If you don’t turn it then it will not decompose properly.
